Year 3 visit to Hacienda Albuquería

On Friday 25 May Y3 had a fantastic day out at the Hacienda Albuqueria in Coin. The day started with biscuits and juice to fuel us up for a day of activity. We were split into 2 groups where we met our brilliant monitors who would look after us and teach us new things. We all learnt how to do archery which was quite hard at first but we soon got the hang of it. Our favourite part of the day had to be the “tirolina” it looked so scary and so high but we all tried it and loved it!! We ended the day with a gorgeous lunch. We would love to go back again someday as it was so much fun!

Junior Golf Success

Aloha students Oliver Nash and Tuomas Toivanen came 1st and 3rd respectively at the Magna Marbella Golf Club, against 28 other players from various schools, on Saturday 26 May. Oliver is the product of the Junior Golf passport and only started golf 1 year ago!

Non uniform day – CUDECA

Students from Primary and Secondary schools enjoyed a non-uniform day but on one condition – that they bring a contribution to the Cudeca campaign. By 10 am 900 euros had been collected for this charity which helps and supports cancer sufferers and their families in the province of Málaga.

Aloha College FC

ACFC successfully completed their first year in the Marbella league – we are very proud of their achievements and they too are thrilled to be able to continue participating next year.

Year 2 visit to Selwo

On Friday 18 May, Year 2 went on an educational visit to Selwo Adventure Park in Estepona. The children were very excited to see such a vast array of animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, reptiles, birds and many more. We particularly enjoyed being driven over the rough terrain in our trucks. We saw an exhibition of falconry and were astounded by the size of the birds of prey; one even landed on Miss Amy´s head!

KS1 Summer Sports Day

On Tuesday 15 May Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage held their annual Sports Day. This is always an important event in the Primary school calendar but particularly so this year as we are all eagerly anticipating the 2012 Olympics. It was a fun day and all children participated enthusiastically in their races. The events included running races, sack races, the egg and spoon race and even an obstacle course – not forgetting the Parents´ Race! Granada held on to their title but everyone did their best and, in true Olympian fashion we were all champions.

KS2 Summer Sports Day

Sports day 2012 was a fun event enjoyed by all the children. Participation was a key factor and it was great to see all the children taking part in two or more of the events. The events tested their speed, agility, balance, co-ordination and teamwork.

Olympics Opening Ceremony

“The London 2012 Olympic Games is our theme this term throughout the whole school from Nursery to Year 6. As an entry point to this we celebrated the schools internationality by hosting an ‘Olympic’ style opening ceremony before the Key Stage 2 Summer Sports Day. Every child in Key Stage 1 and 2 made the flag of their home country and enjoyed wearing their country colours.
