Olympics Opening Ceremony

“The London 2012 Olympic Games is our theme this term throughout the whole school from Nursery to Year 6. As an entry point to this we celebrated the schools internationality by hosting an ‘Olympic’ style opening ceremony before the Key Stage 2 Summer Sports Day. Every child in Key Stage 1 and 2 made the flag of their home country and enjoyed wearing their country colours.

KS1 Summer Sports Day

On Tuesday 15 May Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage held their annual Sports Day. This is always an important event in the Primary school calendar but particularly so this year as we are all eagerly anticipating the 2012 Olympics. It was a fun day and all children participated enthusiastically in their races. The events included running races, sack races, the egg and spoon race and even an obstacle course – not forgetting the Parents´ Race! Granada held on to their title but everyone did their best and, in true Olympian fashion we were all champions.

KS2 Summer Sports Day

Sports day 2012 was a fun event enjoyed by all the children. Participation was a key factor and it was great to see all the children taking part in two or more of the events. The events tested their speed, agility, balance, co-ordination and teamwork.
