International Schools Athletics Day 2015

On Thursday 30 April Aloha College pupils achieved fantastic success at the International Schools Athletics Competition in Cártama. Despite missing several key athletes, Aloha College finished 2nd overall out of 13 schools. Pupils were awarded points depending on where they finished in each event and Aloha had many athletes who came in first, second and third positions.

The following pupils deserve a special mention for winning gold medals in their events with some setting new International Schools records on the way:

100 m: Emily Villaverde, Noel Njoya, Georgia Samways (New International Schools Record) and Joel Morelius.

400 m: Cesar Rubio (New International Schools Record)

800 m: Alessandro Scariolo (New International Schools Record), Alex De Fortuny, Auke Evers (New International Schools Record)

Long Jump: Sophia Unger, Mikel Gaztelu

Triple Jump: Sophia Unger, Carlos Park

High Jump: Auke Evers (New International Schools Record)

Shot: Idris Morgan, Veronika Amieva (New International Schools Record)

Javelin: Max Mattila

Relay: Year 7 Girls (Evelina Stanikova, Sophia Unger, Inez Adamovic, Lucia Lavelle)

Year 7 Boys (Ignacio Fay, Idris Morgan, Rhys Morgan, Carlos Park)

Year 9 Boys (Grigory Rumyanstev, Alex de Fortuny, Mikel Gaztelu, Noel Njoya)

Year 10 Girls (Millie Sprenger, Gabriela Hayes, Yael Mattila, Georgia Samways)
