International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated every year, everywhere, on 8 March. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from a general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration of women’s economic and social achievements, and a reflection of the goals still to be fought for.In Aloha our pupils in Reception and Year 1 did some drawings to commemorate this day and we received a visit from the Town Hall’s delegate for Equality, who was very impressed with the pictures – they are on show in the School’s main entrance.
