Ages 5–10

Key Stage 1

Welcome to Key Stage 1, a vibrant and formative stage for children aged 5 to 7. Building on the solid foundations of the Early Years, students continue their learning journey through a blend of the National Curriculum for England and carefully selected elements of the International Primary Curriculum. Subjects such as Science, History, Art and Geography are explored through engaging, cross-curricular topics that foster meaningful connections and deepen understanding.

Our Key Stage 1 classrooms are lively, nurturing environments where curiosity is encouraged, creativity celebrated and a love of learning cultivated. Teachers and teaching assistants work closely to create stimulating spaces that promote exploration, independence and critical thinking. Strong partnerships with parents are central to our approach, helping to support each child’s progress and well-being.

Student Development

Students build strong early literacy through a structured phonics programme and explore numeracy with engaging, hands-on activities. Scientific inquiry is encouraged through simple investigations, while creativity flourishes in music, drama, and visual arts. Social and emotional development is nurtured through collaborative learning, emotional literacy, and mutual respect, preparing children holistically for the next stage of their education.

Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 marks the final phase of primary education, covering Years 3 to 6 for children aged 7 to 10. This stage offers a tailored approach that nurtures growing confidence, independence, and academic progress.

Our committed team of teachers and teaching assistants work collaboratively to provide both support and challenge, ensuring each child reaches their full potential. In Lower Key Stage 2, pupils build on the foundations established in Key Stage 1, broadening their knowledge and skills through a balanced curriculum. In Upper Key Stage 2, the focus deepens to consolidate understanding and equip pupils for a smooth and confident transition to secondary education.

Our Curriculum

Our rich and engaging curriculum combines inspiring literacy, purposeful writing, and the structured White Rose Maths approach to develop strong foundational skills. Enhanced by the International Primary Curriculum’s thematic, cross-curricular focus, students make meaningful connections across subjects and cultures. This comprehensive learning experience prepares pupils for future academic success and nurtures a lifelong love of learning.
