Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is part of our co-curricular programme, perfectly aligned with our student profile and our motto: Be your best.

Participating in the Award is a significant commitment, but the personal growth, enjoyment and sense of achievement it brings are invaluable.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a globally recognised framework for non-formal education and personal development. Open to young people worldwide, it provides a unique structure through which achievements can be accredited internationally.

The Award Sections

To complete their Award, students must successfully complete four sections. While many activities are available within school, students are also encouraged to explore opportunities within the local community.

Bronze expeditions involve one night and two days, Silver extends to two nights and three days, while Gold requires three nights and four days. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, Aloha College Marbella students have undertaken recent expeditions in Jimena de la Frontera, Tarifa, Grazalema and the Sierra de las Nieves.

It’s a great learning experience. For me, the best part was meeting new people and sharing the adventure with them.Aloha student

The entire experience has taught me so many important life skills beyond what I expected. Aloha Student

"Activities like this not only help you become stronger and more resilient, but nurture qualities you didn’t realise you had." Aloha Student
