⚽ Verona Mediterranean Cup 2025
A tournament that has, once again, highlighted the strength of our sporting culture, in which passion, perseverance and unity shine brighter than any trophy.
Our school proudly participated in the Mediterranean Cup 2025 in Verona, fielding two U19 teams — Girls and Boys — representing our community with exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Girls U19 Team
The girls’ squad, composed of students from Years 10 to 13, showcased remarkable maturity, teamwork, and passion. Despite being one of the youngest teams in the competition, they performed exceptionally well, conceding only one loss in five matches on the opening day to qualify comfortably for the Elite Championship. Saturday’s group stage brought another impressive display, with just one narrow defeat propelling them into the semi-finals. In a fiercely contested match, the girls were unfortunate to concede a last-minute goal, losing 1–0. Showing great character, they bounced back on Sunday with an outstanding performance to secure a well-deserved third place, demonstrating resilience and excellence throughout.
The team faced significant adversity early in the tournament when our initial goalkeeper sustained a severe injury during the second match. She was unable to play for the remainder of the day and for part of the following day. In response, several players demonstrated outstanding commitment by volunteering to step into the goalkeeper position. A special mention must be given to Chloe Lewis, who played in goal for three matches, conceding only two goals and making a crucial penalty save in the semi-final. As a result of their remarkable efforts, Chloe and Lana were jointly awarded the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament trophy, a testament to their courage and exceptional performances.
Boys U19 Team
The boys entered the tournament as strong favourites, having triumphed in the previous three editions of the Mediterranean Cup. Their campaign began in dominant fashion, going unbeaten on the first day to secure qualification for the Elite Championship. Day two proved more challenging, with three closely contested draws preventing progression to the semi-finals. On Sunday, after a hard-fought match that ended in a penalty shootout, the team concluded the tournament in 6th place overall. Though not the result they aimed for, their commitment, effort, and sportsmanship were exemplary.
Both teams represented our school with pride and integrity, embodying the true spirit of competition. Their performances, teamwork, and character on and off the field were a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Over the years, ACFC has nurtured exceptional talent, with alumni such as Dean Huijsen, Bernardo Espinosa, and Sofia Elgaily showcasing the impact of grassroots football. Their success reflects the club’s commitment to developing players both on and off the pitch.
Aloha College Basketball Club (ACBC)

Beyond skill development, ACBC emphasises teamwork, sportsmanship and communication, essential qualities that extend far beyond the court.

Athletics & Cross Country
Athletics plays a vital role in fostering self-discipline, goal-setting and perseverance. Students engage in a wide range of track and field events that not only promote physical fitness, but also help develop focus and resilience, all within a supportive and competitive setting.
Our Cross Country team continues to perform with excellence, representing the school at inter-school competitions across the Costa del Sol. Students embrace the challenge of varied terrain, building stamina and determination while forming friendships through sport.
Cricket
Cricket is a growing area of enthusiasm among both students and staff. As part of our enrichment programme, students have taken part in the "Cricket’s Cool" initiative, held alongside the European Championships in Cártama.
During these events, students received coaching from professional players, watched live matches and even appeared on national television, an unforgettable experience that brought the sport to life and showcased the opportunities that sport can offer beyond the pitch.
At Aloha College Marbella, our sports programme complements academic life, building character, confidence and a strong sense of community. Whether it is through team sports, competitive leagues or individual pursuits, we encourage every student to discover their strengths, support their peers and be their best, in every sense.
