Pastoral Care at ACM

Pastoral care is a recognised area of excellence at Aloha College Marbella. Our approach has earned us external praise from multiple inspection bodies and we are proud to have been awarded Beacon Status for Pastoral Care by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).

Every student at Aloha College Marbella is valued as an individual and our pastoral support is thoughtfully tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. Our aim is to equip students with the tools to thrive both within the classroom and beyond. This holistic approach is rooted in the strong, nurturing relationships built between students, staff and parents.

We believe that young people flourish when they feel emotionally secure, respected and supported by trusted adults. Developing resilience, empathy and a positive sense of self are essential to sustaining mental health, not just during childhood and adolescence, but throughout life.

At Aloha College Marbella, students are supported to become confident, autonomous and socially responsible members of a diverse and compassionate school community. They are encouraged to embrace individuality while contributing to something greater,  a school culture shaped by kindness, respect and continuous growth.

We believe that close collaboration with parents is fundamental to outstanding pastoral care. Open, regular communication between families and staff ensures that our support is well-informed, consistent and responsive to each student’s journey.

Medical Center

Student health and well-being are a priority at Aloha College Marbella. Our Medical Centre is staffed by a full-time qualified nurse, available on site every school day from 09:00 to 17:00. The nurse provides professional care, immediate assistance and reassurance for students who are unwell or injured during the school day.

The sick bay is a dedicated, well-equipped space used for short-term observation and the treatment of minor illnesses or injuries. In the case of more serious medical concerns, we work in close partnership with local doctors and paramedics to ensure swift, high-quality care.

In addition to our nurse, members of staff across the school are trained in first aid and have experience in managing minor injuries. This ensures that students are supported promptly and effectively in all areas of the school.

Our aim is to provide a safe, calm environment where students can receive immediate care, feel secure and recover comfortably when needed.

Food

At Aloha College Marbella, we believe that nutritious, high-quality food plays a vital role in student well-being and academic performance. All meals are prepared fresh on site every day by our experienced in-house catering team, ensuring maximum quality, traceability and care in every dish.

Our food philosophy centres around good, seasonal ingredients that are freshly sourced and locally produced. This approach not only supports student health through well-balanced meals, but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and to supporting local suppliers.

From Monday to Friday, students enjoy balanced hot lunches and healthy break-time snacks, all cooked in our own school kitchen. Special dietary requirements are fully accommodated, with confidence in the fact that all ingredients are sourced and managed by our dedicated team.

A key feature of our food provision is the School Food Committee, which actively involves students in shaping the dining experience. Each year group is represented by a student who gathers feedback from their peers ahead of termly meetings. This collaborative approach enables our catering team to continually refine and innovate menus, offering meals that are not only nutritious but also reflect the tastes and preferences of our diverse student body.
